’31 Ford Roadster Wins Pro Builder Pick at NSRA 2016 Nationals …

A 1931 Ford Roadster called “Blu-By-U” was picked by Cars-On-Line.com’s Facebook fans as their choice for the Pro Builder Pick at NSRA 2016 Nationals here in Louisville, Kentucky. The announcement came on Monday when 805 Cars-On-Line.com Facebook fans voted for the 1931 Ford Roadster as their top pick among the Builders’ Showcase in the Workman building at the NSRA Nats. “Blu-By-U” was restored as an old school roadster by Charly’s Garage of Mesa, Arizona.

Thirty custom car builders displayed their latest creations in the Harold Workman North Wing of the Kentucky Expo Center during the NSRA 2016 Street Rod Nationals here in Louisville, Kentucky. We gave our Facebook and Twitter a preview of the top cars during the weekend.  Our fans voted with their “Likes” on our Facebook page. We announced the winner of our unofficial Facebook poll for Pro Builder Pick at NSRA 2016 Nationals here on Monday night.

The top cars for the Pro Builder Pick at NSRA 2016 Nationals were interviewed during the weekend. Below are videos of the interviews with the top builders from around the country.

This 1955 Chevy Nomad is among the acclaimed builds here at the Builder’s Showcase in the Workman building. We had a chance to talk with Scott France of Classic Car Studio in Brentwood, Missouri. He told us about the build on this truly one-of-a-kind Nomad. Cars On Line newsletter readers will recognize Classic Car Studio as one of our Dealer Network classic car dealers. But they also run a well-known shop in Brentwood where they turn out restorations and custom builds like this. We talked to Ryan Korek of Korek Designs in New Berlin, Pennsylvania today. He told us about the build on a 1952 International Pickup which Korek Designs built for Dave & Cindy Gutelins.

 

“Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should,” says Bob Rutlidge of Rutter’s Rod Shop in Hickory, North Carolina. His shop built a 1973 Plymouth Cuda Resto Mod for owner Chris Reid. He told us he kept the original lines, but included many subtle custom mods. Watch the video as he explains.

 

Karl Schulman of Garret’s Rod Shop in Columbus, Ohio talks about their 1966 Mustang Custom. Newsletter readers will remember a few weeks ago we saw it in the Goodguy’s Street Machine of the Year competition in Columbus.

 

We met Jerry Sanders with his gorgeous 1934 Ford Woodie Wagon in the Builders’ Showcase here at the Kentucky Expo Center during the NSRA 2016 Street Rod Nationals. He had a unique story about how he built this one from a Hercules wood body.
