Dave Kalina of New Brighton, Minnesota may be one of the luckiest car collectors on the face of the earth. He was chasing a lead on another car at a consignment dealer in Chicago when he spotted this 1934 Ford 3-Window Coupe. When he bought it he only knew that the car was a beautiful street rod. What he found out is that it was a Great 8 award contestant at the 2012 Detroit Autorama. Yes the builder was Greg Blackford, a custom car builder who devoted three years of his life building this one-off 1934 Ford 3-Window Coupe. His object was to win the Ridler Award at the Detroit Autorama.
When Kalina bought the 1934 Ford 3-Window Coupe he knew it had been a trailer queen all its life. He took it to Rodgers Rod & Custom in East Bethel, Minnesota to make it a driver. Today we saw the 1934 Ford 3-Window Coupe with a new look since it was a show car in Detroit. The paint is still incredible and the Chevy 383 stroker motor still looks great in the engine compartment. But today when this car fires up it can be driven down the rode like any street rod at Back to the 50s Weekend. This incredible street rod comes with the best parts money can buy including those beautiful Foose wheels.
