2014 Barrett-Jackson Auction – Saturday “Prime Time”
SCOTTSDALE, AZ — The excitement is palatable here at the 2014 Barrett-Jackson Auction. The big money is in the house. Temperatures are already a balmy 80 degrees in the desert air. The smell of barbecue and exhaust fumes are filling the air. “Prime Time” Saturday here at the 43rd Annual Barrett-Jackson Auction is about to get underway.
Here are some of the sales we want to watch. Let’s see if our Facebook readers can predict the prices that these cars are likely to bring as they cross the auction block at the 2014 Barrett-Jackson Auction.
These cars below will be sold during the early part of the afternoon, 1 PM to 3 PM on Saturday. You’ll see this segment of the Barrett-Jackson Auction on FOX regular broadcast stations (your local FOX station.)
The custom Split Window Corvette is billed as the “The World’s Fastest Street Legal Corvette,” certified by NHRA and IHRA Pro Mod- 7.50 ET and faster. Newsletter readers know that this car was designed and built by Rod Saboury, one of the world’s most noted Pro Street Corvette builders. The body is a real 1963 split window with original VIN plate and correct title, lengthened and widened hood with scoops to house the trubos. The 2014 Barrett-Jackson Auction will have a new look this year as nearly everything about the show has changed. They have a new auction stadium compliments of the city of Scottsdale, so the grounds are set up very differently this year. You will also note that FOX Sports has bought out the SPEED Channel so the schedule for watching the Barrett-Jackson on TV is very different this year.
