Gooding Does $60.4 Million in Sales …
The 2014 Gooding & Company Auction realized $60.4 million in just two nights at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance. Gooding & Company is the official auction house of the Pebble Beach Concours. They had 17 cars sell for over $1 million. New record sales for a specific marque were set, including a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spider which sold for $15,180,000, and a 1955 Aston Martin DB3S selling for $5.5 million.
“We had one of the most successful one-day sales in our history and saw tremendous excitement surrounding the sale of the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider, said David Gooding, President of Gooding & Company. “It’s incredible that Saturday’s results do not yet take into account many of our star attractions including the 1966 Ferrari 365 P Berlinetta Speciale Tre Posti and the 1939 Alfa Romeo Tipo 256 Cabriolet Sportivo, which will both be featured at our auction following the Concours on Sunday.”

The 2014 Gooding & Company Auction is another high profile collector car event that is held each year during Concours Week as a warmup for the grand event, the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance. Hundreds of well-healed West Coast collectors will be vying for some very choice pieces of automotive history here as thousands will flock to the Monterey Penninsula to partake in the pomp and ceremony of the Concours weekend.
