Barrett-Jackson in “Prime Time” Saturday …

Well, the extravaganza that is the Barrett-Jackson at 2014 Hot August Nights is over for this year.  As always it was a very entertaining show.  “Prime Time” Saturday saw a 1969 Yenko Camaro sell for $185,000. Our newsletter readers and Facebook fans were watching as a 1957 Desoto Firesweep Convertible was sold and several very high dollar Corvettes also crossed the auction block.

1958 Desoto Firesweep Convertible for Barrett-Jackson at 2014 Hot August Nights

The 1958 Desoto Firesweep Convertible sold for $69,850. It is one of only 700 such cars produced by Desoto for ’58. They say it has been well cared for since a complete restoration. It has Turquoise and white paint, black and white interior and black Haartz top. The chrome and stainless are so nice that it can truly be considered a show quality restoration. It has power top, power steering, power brakes, working factory radio and rare bubble windshield. The Lot # is 758 so we assume it will be sold on Saturday.

1957 Corvette Custom sold at Barrett-Jackson at 2014 Hot August Nights

1957 Corvette Custom sold for $75,900. This was an incredibly beautiful resto mod, painted jet black with a full custom tan leather interior. All touring suspension and powder coated undercarriage.

1935 Ford Custom Hot Rod sold at Barrett-Jackson at 2014 Hot August Nights

Over-the-top custom 1932 Ford Custom Hot Rod was called the “Baddest ’32 ever.” It has an all-steel body and big block Hemi 540 ci Mopar boasting 1,100 horsepower. Sold for $110,000.

1970 Chevelle L78 sold at Barrett-Jackson at 2014 Hot August Nights

A 1970 Chevelle SS L78 396/375 hp car that was said to be numbers matching went for $62,700.

1949 Cadillac Topless Roadster sold at Barrett-Jackson at 2014 Hot August Nights

See a better shot of this car on our Facebook site. It is a 1949 Cadillac Topless Roadster that was described as a rolling work of art. When you see it from the rear view you will see what we mean. It was sold for $75,900.

1941 Ford Convertible

This 1941 Ford Convertible was a favorite for our Facebook fans watching the auction on TV and commenting on our site. It was formerly owned by Jerry West, NBA star Hall of Famer and GM for the Los Angeles Lakes. It sold for $40,700.

1941 Lincoln Barrett-Jackson at Hot August Nights

A 1941 Lincon Continental Convertible will be Lot # 722 and is sure to draw a lot of attention at the Barrett-Jackson at Hot August Nights. They say it is powered by its original 292 V12 engine. It was restored to the condition you see here. This one comes loaded with options for the era. It is one of only 400 Lincoln cabriolets produced in ’41. 1969 Ford Talladega for sale at the Barrett-Jackson at 2014 Hot August Nights

Supremely rare, this 1969 Ford Talladega sold for $48,950 at the Barrett-Jackson at 2014 Hot August Nights. It is Lot # 636. This is one of 750 Talladegas produced by Ford at their Atlanta assembly plant. The color is called Presidential blue. They were homologated for racing. In fact, Richard Petty was lured away from Plymouth to run NASCAR in a Ford Talladega that year. Then Plymouth had to produce the Superbird to get him back.

 

1961 Corvette Fuelie to be sold at Barrett-Jackson at 2014 Hot August Nights

A very desirable 1961 Corvette Fuelie in the rare color Sateen Silver with white coves sold for $75,900. It was Lot # 701 for the Barrett-Jackson at 2014 Hot August Nights. It is powered by a 315 horsepower Fuel Injected engine matched up at a 4-speed manual transmission. Note the correct engine shielding.
