The Bonhams Auction on Thursday, and the Gooding & Company Auction plus the RM Sotheby’s Auction, both on Friday, were very interesting sales of fine motorcars. We think the big story here on Friday happened at the Gooding & Company Auction when two barn finds sold for outrageous prices considering they are in need of total restoration to be show quality. A 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Long Nose Alloy sold for $2,530,000 and a 1967 Shelby S/C 427 sold for $1,045,000. Both of these cars had recently been discovered tucked away in a garage that was to be torn down in North Carolina.
They had both been in storage for 27 years. This story has been covered by Hagerty Insurance Company in a video they did for their Barn Hunter Series. Click here to view the video as the Hagerty crew uncovered these treasures.
Bonham’s Auction on Thursday
On Thursday Bonham’s Auction Company saw some of the most valuable motorcars in the world sold off of their auction stage. What a blend of vintage motorcars, race cars and American classics. Here are some of the top sales for the Bonham’s Auction.
