
Barrett-Jackson Cup Winner at Hot August Nights …
SATURDAY, Reno, NV — It was just announced that the Barrett-Jackson Cup winner at Hot August Nights 2015 is the 1962 Chevy Impala Bubbletop owned by Randy and Lisa Wilcox. Andy Leach of Cal Automotive Creations won the Builders Award for his work on the ’62 Bubbletop. Here are some photos of the awards ceremony and the 1962 Chevy Impala Bubbletop:
The judges for the Barrett-Jackson Cup award said this was the toughest competition so far. Every one of the “Reno 5” finalists for the award was a top show car. The “Reno 5”, the Top Five contenders for the Barrett-Jackson Cup, were selected earlier today by the judges at Hot August Nights here in Reno, Nevada. These are the Reno 5:
Although the Barrett-Jackson Cup award is only in its third year here at Hot August Nights, it has already become one of the most sought after prize packages in the custom car hobby. With over $100,000 in cash and prizes awarded, cars from all over the country have arrived here to compete for the award. The Top 25 Finalists have already been chosen. The final five, otherwise known as the “Reno 5,” along with the Ultimate Best of Show, will be announced at the closing of Barrett-Jackson’s auction on Saturday night.
