There’s nothing like the smell of burnt rubber to start your day off right. And there’s plenty of that here at the Car Craft Summer Nationals 2015 at Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis, Wisconsin, July 17-19, 2015. This is the first year that the Summer Nats have been here, and Car Craft’s custom car builders and enthusiasts are down with it.
“One of the best shows that ever came to the Milwaukee area,” said a long-time car guy from Wisconsin. That was his comment on the Car Craft Summer Nationals 2015. We have to agree. The Summer Nats couldn’t have found a better home than right here at the Wisconsin State Fairgrounds in West Allis, Wisconsin (a suburb of Milwaukee.)

One of the big displays at the Car Craft Summer Nationals 2015 is the Pro Builders area where some of the top hot rod and street machine builders in the country are showing their cars. You can vote for your favorite builder by texting (203) 318-9220 and selecting the number of your favorite builder.
The Cars On Line.com staff did some interviews at the Pro Builders display and talked to some of the show participants today. We were streaming live on Periscope with videos and interviews at the show. We’ll try to make them available to you here. Stay tuned to this page.
Saturday’s action featured a giant road coarse and plenty of room to Autocross on the infield of the Milwaukee Mile race track. Also inside the oval was the dyno testing station by West Bend Dyno Tuning. The quaint little Bavarian village type atmosphere on the grounds made everybody feel right at home. And, of course, since Milwaukee is known for its food and beer, the big beer gardens and impromptu rock ‘n roll stages were everywhere.
Here is a gallery of photos we took here Saturday:
When the Car Craft Summer Nationals 2015 made the move from St Paul, Minnesota to Milwaukee this year there was some trepidation as to whether Car Craft Magazine’s fans would turn out. The fears were unwarranted as the pleasant laid back Milwaukee atmosphere was more fun then anyone could have imagined. The rain threatened during mid-afternoon on Saturday so we all retreated to those huge beer gardens to wait out the storm. Storm? What storm?
The big Summer Nationals for street machines and classic customs will run through Sunday, July 19, 2015. The events will include the burnout contest at 12:30 PM, and Autocross, and a special Road Coarse.
There will be fun for the whole family when Revell holds their Make-N-Take contest where children can keep the model car they build. There is also a balloon house obstacle course, and face-painting for the youngsters.
Is the Engine a ALLOY BLOCk 427 ?? Only 69 ZL- 1 ALLOY BLOCK CAS WERE BUILT BY CHEVY & MOST OF THEM WERE BOUGHT UP BY PROF.DRAGSTERS.& THEY HAD A 1050 CFM HOLLEY CARB, I BELIEVE .
It is one of the ZL1 427 blocks produced in 2009 as retro versions of the aluminum block 427’s made for Fred Gibb in 1969. This is not an original ZL1 car. But it is amazing when you can see the paint and graphics up close.
