Concorso di Eleganza Città di Trieste

The Concorso di Eleganza Città di Trieste celebrates the elegance of the cars and the beauty of the city
of Trieste with a world class display of classic cars in the Piazza Unità d’Italia.
The City of Trieste Elegance Competition organized by the ACI Storico Club, the Trieste Automobile
Club, and the AAVS – Association of Amateurs of Historic Vehicles, under the patronage of the
Automobile Club of Italy, enters the final phase of the program.
The event, which will take place from 14 to 16 May, is reserved for historic cars built between 1910 and
1979.
The cars in competition, exclusively by invitation, will be grouped into seven classes according to the
decade of manufacture: from 1910 to 1919, from 1920 to 1929, from 1930 to 1939, from 1940 to 1949,
from 1950 to 1959, from 1960 to 1969, from 1970 to 1979. The list of participating cars, registered in the
ACI Storico Register and part of the ACI Storico safeguard list, will be made official in the next few days.
The cars will be exhibited in Piazza Unità d’Italia in Trieste on the afternoon of Friday 14 May. The jury
made up of five members and flanked by a highly qualified technical commission will be chaired by the
President of the Automobile Club of Italy Eng. Angelo Sticchi Damiani. On Saturday 15 and Sunday 16
May the jury will be asked to evaluate the cars in competition and to decide the winners of the seven age
classes, as well as the “Best of Show” car, which will be awarded the prestigious “Concorso di Eleganza
Città” trophy. of Trieste “.
The awards ceremony will take place at 12.30 on Sunday 16 May, again in Piazza Unità d’Italia.
A prize will also be awarded to the car chosen by the public by means of a vote that can be finalized with
your smartphone, with a system that will be communicated shortly.
At the same time as the “Concorso di Eleganza Città di Trieste” the ACI Storico Club, to celebrate the
one hundred years of Moto Guzzi, will exhibit eleven motorcycles that have made the history of the eagle
brand.
The event will take place in conjunction with the fascinating Mitteleuropean Race, a Super Classic
regularity race on the ACI Sport calendar and “sponsored by ACI Storico”.
