2014 Pebble Beach RM Auction
Special Ferrari Gets $24 Million at RM Auction …
You can’t say we didn’t warn you. Yesterday we picked the 1964 Ferrari 275 GTB/C Speciale by Scaglietti to be the top car here at the 2014 RM Auction here in Monterey. But it was still exciting to see it up on the auction block tonight when the rare Scaglietti built Ferrari drew a winning bid of $24 million. Although it was not the highest price paid here during 2014 Pebble Beach Concours Week, it was the highest price at any auction here on Saturday.
The 275 GTB/C Speciale is reported to be the first of only three Works berlinetta competizione cars built; rarer than its 250 GTO siblings. Its history is known from when it was new and the promotional materials say that it has it original, numbers matching engine.

The 2014 Pebble Beach RM Auction has been greatly anticipated this week since it was here that a new world record was set last year for the highest price ever paid for a collector car at a U.S. auction. Although RM Auctions did not produce another record this year, they did sell some amazing cars.
