Daytona Turkey Run Car Corral

One spectator noted, “There’s more cars for sale here this year.” The action was heavy here at the Daytona Turkey Run Car Corral today. The Saturday crowd was pretty intense. As big as the Car Corral area is, there just wasn’t enough room to display all the “for sale” cars this year. Cars with “For Sale” signs were spilling over into the Car Show areas as well as into the Swap Meet. It was hard to tell where the lines crossed from show cars to cars for sale. If you were going to see all of the “For Sale” car in the Car Corral you were going to do a lot of walking.

Here are a few examples of what was for sale today:

2010 Camaro L550 Pace Car
You may have heard us say, “You never know what you’re going to find here at the 2014 Daytona Turkey Run.” But it’s not just a slogan. Here is an example. We noted a 2010 Camaro L550 Pace Car in the car corral. As it turns out it is a rare supercharged edition. They only build five of these cars and three of them were exported overseas. This is one of only two sold in this country.

Daytona Dodge brought this rare 2014 Dodge Challenger with a special Petty Package. Randy Dye of Daytona Dodge takes these cars to the Petty Garage back in Level Cross, North Carolina to have Richard Petty’s mechanics upgrade them with the Petty Package. This car was the No. 8 car done by Petty and increased the power on the 392 Hemi engine to 550 rear wheel horsepower. They say this car sounds like no other. The Petty Package ads $18,335 to the price. But the asking price on this Hemi Challenger is only $46,000.
1956 Buick Special 2-Dr Hardtop
A 1956 Buick Special 2-Dr Hardtop was sitting in the Car Corral. Yes, it really did look this good. The asking price was $19,500.
1964 1/2 Mustang Convertible in the Daytona Turkey Run Car Corral
The 1964 1/2 Mustang Convertible has a striking original color scheme. They were asking $26,500 but said they wanted an offer. So I offered $18,000. They didn’t take it. But I noticed as I walked away that the paint was waving at me.
1972 Mustang Ram Air 351
We figure the best deal we saw here today was this 1972 Mach 1 351 Ram Air, a resto mod, nice straight paint and body. They were asking $27,500. Worth it
1940 Willys Custom Pickup at the Daytona Turkey Run
1940 Willys Custom Pickup at the Daytona Turkey Run. A finished Rat Rod that is the epitome of old school styling but with a beautiful finish and chromed to the hilt. It was one of the top cars we saw in the Car Corral for sale today.

There were so many vehicles in the Car Corral today at the Daytona Turkey Run that this 1941 Willys Coupe decided to drive up and down the main street to get noticed.
1932 Ford Highboy
The beatiful flamed paint on this 1932 Ford Highboy Roadster stood out among a choice selection of street rods offered for sale in the Car Corral.
1942 Chevy Custom Convertible
We’ve never seen a 1942 Chevy done to this detail. Extreme modifications too many to mention. Great starter car.
'50s Chevy Extreme Custom Wagon
Interesting starter car, a 1951 Plymouth Station Wagon, with extreme modifications. Extreme 3″ chop, ’50 Merc front fender flares, ’49 Merc tail lights, ’49 Plymouth front and rear bumpers and ’55 Olds headlights. Very cool.
1970 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible
Best deal among the cars for sale here on Thursday. We found in the swap meet area. The 1970 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible had $13,500 written on the windshield.
