93 Dodge Vipers Crushed!
Have we learned nothing about preserving our past? For car guys, keeping history alive and on the roads is the cardinal rule, the entire reason for the hobby. Yet Chrysler has ordered 93 first-generation Vipers to be crushed.
They were developed for use as educational tools, and lacked speed limiters and emission control systems. They were never street legal, but that didn’t keep them from finding their way onto the streets. After two accidents involving the Chrysler-owned “educational tools,” and the million dollar liability claims leveled against them, Chrysler’s lawyers have ordered the cars scraped.
