Wavecrest Woodie Cruise 2014
Wavecrest Woodie Cruise 2014 on Historic 101 …
It is a beautiful clear day today at Encinitas where the final event in the Wavecrest Woodie Cruise 2014 is underway this morning. We watched as the show participants started on a 25-mile cruise to Oceanside. Leaving from the village center and parading through Encinitas on historic Hwy 101, the long line of classic woodie cars and trucks drew “Uuuhs” and “aahs” from passersby. Everybody gets a big kick out of watching these beautiful woodie vehicles on their way to the Oceanside piers for a photo op there. Many of them today were gleaming in the early morning sun. This is what the classic car hobby is all about. Participating in the Wavecrest Woodie Cruise 2014 is a rite of passage for any woodie car owner. You might say it is on every woodie owner’s bucket list.

When the woodies arrive at Oceanside they will have the opportunity to have photos taken at the Oceanside pier. This is a prime area for beautiful backdrops and a photographer’s dream come true. But the best part is seeing all of these classic woodies together as they parade the historic Hwy. 101 along California’s Pacific Coast highway. This is the final leg of the journey that brought these beautiful wood-bodied classic cars and trucks to Encinitas for the largest woodie show in the world.
